A homeowner contacted us with concerns about their existing sump pump and wanted to ensure it was functioning properly. They hadn’t experienced any obvious flooding, but they knew that a malfunctioning sump pump could lead to serious moisture issues if left unchecked. Seeking a professional evaluation, they reached out to our team to inspect the system, check its performance, and recommend any necessary maintenance or upgrades.
After inspecting the homeowner’s sump pump system, we found that while the existing setup provided basic drainage, it lacked key components for optimal performance and long-term protection. To improve the system, we installed a new sump pump basin along with a check valve to prevent backflow and ensure efficient water discharge. We then upgraded the crawlspace with our R-5 Insulated Encapsulation System, featuring a heavy-duty 23-mil floor liner to create a sealed, moisture-resistant barrier. To manage humidity and prevent mold growth, we installed two Sierra Watchdog NXT 85 Pint Dehumidifiers for enhanced coverage and airflow. Additionally, we replaced damaged HVAC return ductwork and register runs to improve air circulation and system efficiency throughout the home. This comprehensive solution not only ensured the sump pump was working effectively, but also transformed the crawlspace into a dry, clean, and energy-efficient space.
