A potential customer reached out to us after discovering significant issues with sagging floors and high humidity. On the day of the inspection, evidence of standing water and hydrostatic pressure was found in the crawlspace, indicating a pressing water management problem. Further investigation revealed that the open porch had contributed to excessive humidity in the crawlspace, which had created an environment conducive to further damage. A thorough assessment of the framing system showed that the floor joists had sustained structural damage that would require repairs.
We successfully addressed the customer's crawlspace issues through a multi-faceted approach. To restore the integrity of the framing system, we utilized soda blasting to thoroughly clean and prepare the wood surfaces. New floor joist framing was then installed to replace the damaged sections, ensuring a solid structural foundation. An insulated encapsulation system was put in place to seal and protect the crawlspace, and a dehumidifier was integrated to maintain optimal humidity levels. Additionally, a new custom insulated door was built to further enhance the crawlspace's climate control and energy efficiency, providing a comprehensive solution to the customer's problems.
