This customer reached out to us after discovering significant issues in their crawlspace. Notably, we found standing water and evidence of hydrostatic pressure, indicating that water was being forced up from the ground into the crawlspace. Further investigation revealed that a previous contractor had installed a water mitigation system, but it seemed to be failing to address the problem. Heavy fungal growth on the framing system and excessively humid conditions, particularly during summer months, suggested a long-standing issue that had led to significant damage and potential health concerns.
We tackled the crawlspace issues head-on by first soda blasting the wood framing to remove the heavy fungal growth, ensuring a clean slate for further work. Next, we designed and installed a professional-grade drainage system featuring multiple pumping stations, correcting the previous contractor's inadequate setup and effectively addressing the hydrostatic pressure and standing water issues. To prevent future problems, we installed an insulated encapsulation system featuring the world's strongest floor liner, paired with a dehumidifier to maintain optimal humidity levels. Finally, we added a custom-built insulated door to complete the seal, ensuring a dry, stable, and energy-efficient crawlspace that protects the home's foundation and improves indoor air quality.
