A homeowner reached out to us about the dire condition of their crawlspace, which had become a breeding ground for heavy fungal growth due to high humidity levels. Unfortunately, this moisture had taken a devastating toll on the framing system, causing significant structural damage that compromised the integrity of the home. The consequences were evident in the living spaces above, where floors were sagging throughout the home, creating uneven surfaces. Further investigation revealed that the framing system had been built with several deficiencies, which had likely contributed to the severity of the damage, making it a complex issue that required a comprehensive solution.
We repaired the structural problems in the crawlspace by installing new floor joist framing lumber to replace the damaged wood, ensuring a solid foundation for the home's floors. To provide additional support, we dug and poured 10 rebar-reinforced concrete footings, creating a sturdy base for the new structural elements. On top of these footings, we installed 10 steel adjustable supports, which allowed for precise leveling and stabilization. We then installed over 30 feet of steel beams, strategically placed to distribute the weight of the home evenly and provide long-term structural integrity, effectively eliminating the sagging floors and ensuring a stable and level living space.
