Why did the customer contact us?

The homeowner reached out to us about issues in their crawlspace: they were experiencing high energy bills, cold floors inside the home, and noticeable high humidity and moisture content. These issues suggested that the crawlspace was not properly sealed or insulated, allowing outside air to seep in and affect the home's overall climate control. We were tasked with assessing the crawlspace and providing solutions to address these problems and improve the home's energy efficiency and overall comfort.

Solutions provided:

To solve the homeowner's crawlspace issues, we implemented a comprehensive solution. First, we removed the outdated subfloor insulation and installed a cutting-edge foundation insulation liner that would effectively seal and insulate the space. We also insulated and sealed all exterior penetrations to prevent outside air and moisture from entering. The crawlspace was then encapsulated with a puncture-proof liner to further protect against moisture and air leaks. A dedicated crawlspace dehumidifier was installed to regulate humidity levels and prevent future moisture issues. Finally, a brand new custom-built door with an R-10 insulation value was constructed to ensure a tight seal and maximize energy efficiency, completing the transformation of the crawlspace and addressing the homeowner's original concerns of high energy bills, cold floors, and excessive humidity.
