Why did the customer contact us?

The homeowner reached out to us due to concerning conditions in their crawlspace. Upon inspection, we observed clear signs of high humidity, indicating excessive moisture in the air. Furthermore, it was evident that water was entering the crawlspace through hydrostatic pressure, where groundwater was being pushed up into the space. This issue posed a risk of structural damage, mold growth, and other problems, prompting the homeowner to seek our expertise to identify the source of the issue and implement effective solutions to mitigate the water intrusion and humidity, ensuring a dry and stable crawlspace environment.

Solutions provided:

To address the issues in the crawlspace, we installed a drainage system, complete with a sump pump basin, sump pump, and exterior below-grade discharge line, effectively capturing and redirecting groundwater away from the foundation. Next, we air-sealed and insulated the crawlspace to prevent moisture and air leaks. The space was then encapsulated, creating a durable barrier against further moisture intrusion. A dehumidifier was installed to regulate humidity levels and prevent future moisture issues. Finally, two new access doors were built to ensure a tight seal and maximize energy efficiency. This multi-faceted approach successfully mitigated hydrostatic pressure, reduced humidity, and protected the crawlspace from water damage, providing a dry, stable, and energy-efficient environment.
