A homeowner in need of urgent crawlspace repairs contacted us after discovering extensive water damage and structural issues during our inspection. On the day of the inspection, we observed signs of standing water and hydrostatic pressure, which had led to moderate to heavy fungal growth on the framing system. The fungal growth had significantly compromised the structural integrity of the framing system, particularly around an open porch area. Furthermore, our inspection revealed that five joists were cracked, posing serious risks to the home's foundation and stability, and necessitating immediate attention to prevent further damage
To address the crawlspace issues, we implemented a comprehensive solution that began with a Pro Cleaner hydrogen peroxide treatment to eradicate existing fungal growth. We then installed a new drainage system, consisting of a drain pipe, sump basin, sump pump, and discharge line, to effectively manage water accumulation. Next, we sealed all foundation vent openings and porches with rigid foam board insulation to prevent moisture intrusion. A 3/8" or 375 Mil Insulated Liner was installed on the foundation walls, providing an R-5 insulation value. The floor of the crawl space was covered with a 38 Mil 100% Reinforced Liner, featuring taped seams for added protection. Our work is backed by a Lifetime Transferrable Warranty, covering both workmanship and liner degradation. Additionally, we installed a dehumidifier to maintain optimal humidity levels and crafted a custom-built crawlspace door to complete the project.
