Why did the customer contact us?

A concerned homeowner reached out to us after noticing moisture issues beneath their home. Upon inspection, we found clear signs of standing water in the crawl space, along with hydrostatic pressure contributing to the problem. The elevated conditions had led to heavy fungal growth across the framing system, severely compromising its integrity in multiple areas. Our moisture readings revealed humidity levels at 72%, with wood moisture content ranging from 19% to 22%—well above safe thresholds. In total, seven framing timbers were found to be structurally compromised, requiring urgent remediation to prevent further damage and restore the home's stability.

Solutions provided:

To resolve the issues, we implemented a full crawl space encapsulation and structural reinforcement plan. We began by sealing all foundation vent openings and porch areas using rigid foam board insulation to prevent outside moisture intrusion. Next, we installed a 3/8” or 375 Mil Insulated Liner on the foundation walls, providing an R-5 insulation value for improved energy efficiency. The crawl space floor was protected with a 38 Mil 100% Reinforced Liner, featuring taped seams for maximum durability and moisture resistance. To maintain long-term protection, we added a commercial-grade dehumidifier to regulate humidity levels and installed a custom-built crawl space door for secure access. For added structural stability, a PowerPost floor support was installed to reinforce weakened framing areas. All work is backed by a Lifetime Transferrable Warranty.
