A concerned homeowner reached out to us after noticing persistent issues with moisture and musty odors in their home. During our inspection, we found signs of high humidity in the crawlspace, along with moderate to heavy fungal growth and areas of standing water.
To fully resolve the issues found during inspection, we began by treating the fungal growth with a hydrogen peroxide solution to sanitize the affected areas. Next, we installed a drainage pipe system, along with a sump pump basin and sump pump, to remove standing water and prevent future buildup. A discharge line was added to carry the water safely away from the home’s foundation. To protect the space from moisture long-term, we installed a 38 mil encapsulation system, creating a sealed and durable vapor barrier. We also added two register vents to introduce conditioned air into the crawlspace, helping regulate humidity and wood moisture levels. To complete the project, we custom-built and installed a new crawlspace door for a secure, weather-resistant entry point.
