A concerned homeowner contacted us following their home inspection, which revealed significant issues in the crawlspace. The inspector noted signs of high humidity and water intrusion caused by hydrostatic pressure, raising concerns about potential damage to the foundation and indoor air quality. Understanding the importance of addressing these problems promptly, the homeowner reached out for a professional evaluation and effective solutions to safeguard their property.
To resolve the homeowner's crawlspace issues, we implemented a comprehensive moisture management and structural protection plan. A drainage pipe system was installed to redirect water away from the crawlspace, paired with a sump pump and basin to efficiently collect and remove water caused by hydrostatic pressure. A discharge line was added to safely carry water away from the foundation, preventing further intrusion. To eliminate excess humidity, we encapsulated the crawlspace with a durable vapor barrier and installed a high-capacity dehumidifier to maintain optimal moisture levels. Finally, we crafted a custom crawlspace door to provide a secure and airtight seal, further protecting the area from external elements.
