A concerned homeowner reached out to us after their recent home inspection revealed significant issues within their crawlspace. The inspector's report highlighted troubling signs of high humidity and clear evidence of water intrusion directly caused by hydrostatic pressure. This discovery immediately raised concerns for the homeowner about potential long-term damage to their foundation and the overall indoor air quality of their home, prompting them to seek our professional assessment and effective solutions.
Our solution began with insulation removal to clear the affected area, followed by a hydrogen peroxide treatment to address existing fungal growth and sanitation needs. To combat the water intrusion from hydrostatic pressure, we installed a drain pipe system leading to a sump pump and basin, efficiently collecting and channeling water to a new discharge line that safely carried it away from the foundation. For complete moisture control and air quality improvement, the entire crawlspace was then encapsulated with a durable vapor barrier, complemented by the installation of a high-capacity dehumidifier to maintain optimal humidity levels. Finally, a custom crawlspace door was expertly built and installed to provide a secure and airtight seal, preventing external elements from compromising the newly controlled environment
