Job completed for Preventing Sagging Floors with Encapsulation

Completion date: November 13, 2024

Location: New Hope, AL

Why did the customer contact us?

A concerned homeowner reached out to us after discovering significant issues in their crawlspace. During an inspection, it was clear there was standing water and signs of hydrostatic pressure. This severe moisture had led to heavy fungal growth on the framing system, which appeared to have damaged some of the joists and subfloor. The original duct work showed excessive condensation. Recognizing the urgent need for professional intervention to protect their home's structural integrity and indoor air quality, they contacted our team for immediate assistance.

Solutions provided:

To address the homeowner’s crawlspace concerns, we began by soda blasting to eliminate the fungal growth on the framing system, restoring its structural integrity and preventing further decay. We then installed a high-quality vapor barrier to encapsulate the crawlspace, creating a protective seal against moisture intrusion. Recognizing the need for improved airflow and efficiency, we replaced the outdated HVAC supply ductwork, return ductwork, and register runs with modern, energy-efficient components designed to minimize condensation and optimize performance. A dehumidifier was also installed to maintain consistent humidity levels, ensuring a dry and healthy environment. Finally, we custom-built a durable crawlspace door to secure the area. This comprehensive solution resolved the moisture and air quality issues while reinforcing the home’s structural health.
