A homeowner reached out to us with urgent concerns after discovering significant issues in their crawlspace. Their inspection revealed signs of standing water and active hydrostatic pressure, which had led to heavy fungal growth on the framing system. This fungal growth had compromised the wood in certain areas, prompting their immediate call for our professional assessment and a comprehensive solution to protect their home's integrity.
Our solution to the homeowner's crawlspace issues began with soda blasting to effectively remove the heavy fungal growth and prepare the compromised wood framing. To create a dry and healthy environment, we then performed a full encapsulation of the crawlspace with a durable vapor barrier. A dehumidifier was installed to actively control humidity levels and prevent future moisture-related problems. A custom crawlspace door build provided a secure and airtight seal, further isolating the space. To address the structural compromise from the fungal damage, we installed PowerPost floor supports to stabilize and reinforce the affected framing, ensuring the long-term integrity of the home's foundation.
