A homeowner reached out to us, worried about standing water in their crawlspace. During our inspection, we confirmed standing water and active hydrostatic pressure. We also found fungal growth on the framing system, which was concerning. Inside the home, we noted uneven floors and a center wall that lacked proper support. The existing framing system had several missed connections and numerous compromised framing members, all contributing to the homeowner's worries.
To resolve the moisture and structural issues, our team implemented a comprehensive solution. We installed a drain pipe system to collect water, directing it into a sump pump basin. From there, a sump pump expels the water away from the foundation via a discharge line. To control humidity, we installed a dehumidifier and sealed the crawlspace by blocking all existing vents and installing a durable vapor barrier across the ground and walls. Finally, a custom crawlspace door build completed the encapsulation, creating a dry and protected environment beneath the home.
