A homeowner recently reached out to us regarding concerns with his newly purchased property. He noticed areas of rotting wood around the home, which raised structural and safety concerns. Additionally, he reported sloping floors throughout parts of the house, indicating potential foundation issues or damage that may have gone unnoticed during the purchase process. Wanting to address these problems promptly and thoroughly, he contacted us to evaluate the situation and provide professional recommendations for repairs.
To address the homeowner’s concerns, our team implemented a comprehensive solution to restore the structural integrity and improve the overall condition of the home. We began by treating the affected areas with our Pro Cleaner Hydrogen Peroxide Treatment to eliminate mold and sanitize the rotting wood. To control moisture levels and prevent future issues, we blocked unnecessary vents and installed a durable 9 mil vapor barrier throughout the crawlspace. We also installed a Sierra Watchdog NXT 85 Pint Dehumidifier to maintain consistent humidity control. For added protection and security, we custom-built a new PVC crawlspace door. Structurally, we reinforced the flooring by doubling or scabbing the compromised floor joists, installing a steel beam for increased load-bearing support, and adding PowerPost Floor Supports to correct the sloping floors and provide long-term stability. This thorough approach ensured a safer, more stable home environment for the homeowner.
