Completion date: March 10, 2025
Location: Huntsville, AL
Why did the customer contact us?
A homeowner reached out to us after discovering excess moisture in their crawlspace. They had noticed musty odors and elevated humidity levels inside their home, which led them to investigate further. Upon inspection, they found visible signs of dampness and possible water intrusion in the crawlspace area. Concerned about the potential for mold growth and structural damage, they contacted us for a professional assessment and to find a long-term solution to control the moisture and protect their home.
Solutions provided:
To resolve the homeowner’s crawlspace moisture issues, we began by removing the existing insulation, which had become compromised due to prolonged exposure to damp conditions. We then treated the affected areas with a hydrogen peroxide solution to sanitize and eliminate any microbial growth. Next, we installed an insulated encapsulation system, including a durable 15 mil floor liner, to seal the crawlspace and prevent future moisture intrusion. To maintain proper humidity levels and improve air quality, we added a high-efficiency dehumidifier. Finally, we custom-built a new crawlspace door to ensure a secure, airtight seal. This comprehensive solution not only addressed the immediate moisture concerns but also provided lasting protection for the home’s foundation and indoor environment.
