Why did the customer contact us?

A homeowner contacted us after discovering standing water in their crawl space and expressed concern about the potential damage it could cause. They were worried about mold growth, wood rot, and the overall impact on their home’s structural integrity and indoor air quality. Wanting to address the issue before it worsened, the homeowner reached out seeking a long-term solution to remove the water and prevent future moisture problems. They were looking for expert guidance to protect their home and create a healthier, drier environment beneath it.

Solutions provided:

To fully resolve the homeowner’s crawl space water issue, we implemented a comprehensive moisture management and restoration plan. First, we removed all compromised insulation and treated the entire area with Pro Cleaner Hydrogen Peroxide to sanitize surfaces and eliminate mold or organic growth. We then installed a full-perimeter drainage pipe system directing water into a sump pump basin, which was connected to a discharge line for efficient water removal. To prevent future moisture problems, we encapsulated the crawl space using an R-5 Insulated Encapsulation System with a durable 23-mil floor liner, significantly improving insulation and moisture control. A Sierra Watchdog NXT 85-pint dehumidifier was added to regulate humidity levels and maintain dry conditions year-round. To seal and protect the space, we custom-built a PVC crawlspace door. Additionally, we upgraded the HVAC system by replacing the supply and return ductwork, register runs, and register boots, ensuring better air circulation and energy efficiency throughout the home. This all-inclusive approach created a clean, dry, and healthy crawl space environment, offering the homeowner long-term protection and peace of mind.
