Why did the customer contact us?

A homeowner recently contacted us requesting a professional inspection of their crawlspace. They hadn’t noticed any specific issues but were concerned about the long-term condition of the space and wanted to be proactive in maintaining their home. With growing awareness of how crawlspace conditions can impact indoor air quality, energy efficiency, and structural integrity, they wanted to ensure there were no hidden problems such as moisture buildup, insulation failure, or structural weakness. They reached out to our team for a thorough evaluation and expert advice on whether any improvements or preventative measures were needed.

Solutions provided:

After completing a detailed inspection of the crawlspace, we identified several issues including old, ineffective insulation, high humidity levels, and signs of moisture intrusion. To begin the restoration, we removed all deteriorated insulation and performed a Pro Cleaner Hydrogen Peroxide Treatment to sanitize the space and eliminate any mold or microbial growth. We then installed a full perimeter drainage pipe system leading to a custom sump pump pit, equipped with a 1/3 HP sump pump and a discharge line to efficiently manage water removal. To control humidity, we blocked the crawlspace vents and installed a heavy-duty 15-mil vapor barrier across the floor and walls, creating a sealed environment. A Sierra Watchdog NXT 85 Pint Dehumidifier was added to maintain optimal humidity levels year-round. Finally, we custom-built a durable PVC crawlspace door to secure the area while preserving the encapsulation integrity. This comprehensive solution transformed the crawlspace into a clean, dry, and well-protected part of the home.
