A homeowner reached out to us after discovering standing water in their crawlspace, which had become a growing concern. After heavy rains, water would collect. and remain stagnant beneath the house, creating an ideal environment for mold, mildew, and structural decay. Seeking a permanent solution to eliminate the water and prevent future issues, the homeowner contacted us for a professional evaluation and effective crawlspace waterproofing options.
To eliminate the standing water and prevent future moisture issues, we implemented a full-scale crawlspace drainage and structural support solution. We began by installing a full perimeter drainage pipe system to channel water into a newly placed sump pump basin, where a reliable 1/3 HP sump pump was added to actively remove collected water through a secure discharge line. To manage humidity levels long-term, we installed the Sierra Watchdog NXT 85-pint dehumidifier, which helps maintain a dry, healthy environment. To further protect the space, we installed a 15 mil vapor barrier to seal out ground moisture and blocked open vents to prevent humid air from entering. Additionally, we reinforced the crawlspace structure by installing a steel beam with a PowerPost floor support system, ensuring both moisture protection and long-term structural stability. This comprehensive solution resolved the homeowner’s water concerns and restored the integrity and health of their crawlspace.
