A homeowner contacted us with concerns about high humidity levels and visible fungal growth in their crawlspace. They had begun to notice a persistent musty odor throughout the home and were worried about the potential health risks and structural damage associated with prolonged moisture exposure. Upon inspection, they discovered signs of fungal growth on wooden joists and insulation, along with condensation on HVAC components. Recognizing the seriousness of the issue, they reached out to us for a professional evaluation and long-term solution to restore a healthy and stable environment beneath their home.
To address the homeowner’s concerns about high humidity and fungal growth, we implemented a targeted solution designed to seal out moisture and create a controlled environment within the crawlspace. We began by installing a custom-built PVC crawlspace door, providing a secure, airtight entry point that prevents outside air and moisture from entering the space. Next, we installed our R-5 Insulated Encapsulation System, which included a durable 20-mil floor liner to completely seal the ground and walls. This high-performance vapor barrier not only blocks moisture intrusion but also helps regulate temperature and humidity levels. The result is a clean, dry, and energy-efficient crawlspace that significantly reduces the risk of fungal growth and improves overall indoor air quality.
