The homeowner reached out to our team looking for help with cleaning and encapsulating their crawlspace after becoming concerned about its overall condition. Wanting a long-term solution, they requested a professional evaluation and estimate to properly clean up the space and install an encapsulation system. We scheduled an inspection to assess the crawlspace and develop a plan to restore it into a clean, sealed, and well-protected environment.
To restore and protect the crawlspace, our team implemented a full-scale cleanup and encapsulation solution. We began by removing all old, damaged insulation to eliminate sources of moisture retention and contamination. Next, we performed soda blasting to thoroughly clean the wood surfaces and remove any mold, mildew, or buildup. Once the space was properly prepped, we installed an R-5 insulated encapsulation system with a durable 15 mil floor liner, creating a sealed barrier to block out ground moisture and improve energy efficiency. To maintain optimal humidity levels, we installed a Sierra Watchdog NXT 85-pint dehumidifier for continuous moisture control. We also custom-built and installed a PVC crawlspace door to ensure an airtight seal. Additionally, we upgraded the HVAC system within the crawlspace by replacing the supply ductwork, return ductwork, register runs, and register boots, improving airflow, efficiency, and overall indoor air quality throughout the home.
