The homeowner contacted our team after noticing signs of potential structural issues beneath their home, including uneven floors and areas that felt unstable when walking. Concerned about the safety and integrity of their property, they reached out for a professional assessment of the crawlspace. They expressed urgency in addressing the problem before it could worsen, potentially leading to more extensive damage. We scheduled an inspection to evaluate the condition of the support system under the home and determine the necessary repairs to restore stability and ensure long-term structural integrity.
To restore the structural integrity of the home, our team implemented a targeted reinforcement plan within the crawlspace. We began by doubling, or scabbing, the weakened floor joists to strengthen and stabilize the existing framework. To provide additional support, we installed a steel beam to properly distribute the load and eliminate sagging areas. We then added PowerPost floor supports, ensuring the structure was securely lifted and held in place for long-term stability. As part of the overall improvement, we also replaced the HVAC register run to ensure proper airflow and prevent any interference with the newly reinforced system. This comprehensive approach effectively corrected the structural issues and restored confidence in the home’s foundation.
