Job completed for Fungal Growth Eliminated with Complete Crawlspace Drainage and Encapsulation System

The homeowner contacted our team after discovering signs of fungal growth in their crawlspace, including visible discoloration on wood surfaces and a strong musty odor inside the home. Concerned about the potential health risks and the impact on their home’s structural components, they reached out for a professional evaluation. They wanted to address the issue quickly before it spread further or caused more serious damage. We scheduled an inspection to assess the extent of the growth and identify the underlying moisture conditions contributing to the problem, allowing us to recommend an effective solution to restore a clean and healthy crawlspace.

To eliminate the conditions causing fungal growth, our team installed a complete moisture management and encapsulation system. We began by completing a full perimeter drainage pipe installation to capture and redirect groundwater into a newly installed sump pump basin. A 1/3 HP sump pump was then added to actively remove collected water, with a discharge line directing it safely away from the home. Once water intrusion was controlled, we installed an R-5 insulated encapsulation system with a durable 23 mil floor liner to fully seal the crawlspace from moisture and outside air. To maintain a consistently dry environment, we installed a high-capacity Watchdog NXT 85-pint dehumidifier. Finally, we custom-built and installed a PVC crawlspace door to create an airtight seal, ensuring long-term protection against moisture and preventing future fungal growth.
