A homeowner contacted us looking to schedule an appointment after noticing sagging in his floor. He expressed concern that the issue might be a sign of an underlying structural problem, possibly related to the crawlspace or foundation. Wanting to prevent further damage and ensure the safety of his home, he reached out for a professional evaluation to identify the cause of the sagging and determine the best course of action to restore stability and support.
To correct the sagging floor and address the underlying issues, we implemented a comprehensive structural and moisture control solution. We began by treating the crawlspace with a professional hydrogen peroxide application to eliminate any mold or contaminants. To manage water intrusion, we installed a partial perimeter drainage system along with a sump pump basin, a 1/3 HP sump pump, and a dedicated discharge line to efficiently remove excess water. The crawlspace was then fully encapsulated using an R-5 insulated system with a durable 20 mil floor liner, and a Sierra Watchdog NXT 85 pint dehumidifier was installed to maintain proper humidity levels. We also improved the crawlspace access by building and installing a custom PVC door for a tighter seal. To resolve the structural concerns, we installed a steel beam along with PowerPost floor supports to lift and stabilize the sagging areas, restoring strength and integrity to the home’s flooring system.
