Job completed for Eliminating Mildew Odors with Crawl Space Encapsulation & Moisture Control

A homeowner recently contacted us with concerns about a persistent mildew smell coming from their ductwork. They explained that the odor had become noticeable throughout the home and were worried it could be a sign of moisture or mold within the system. Wanting to ensure the air quality in their home was safe and to identify the source of the issue, they reached out to have a professional inspection performed on their ducts and HVAC system.

After identifying the source of the mildew odor, we implemented a comprehensive solution to eliminate moisture and improve overall air quality. We began by removing the compromised insulation, which was likely harboring moisture and contributing to the odor. We then installed an R-5 insulated encapsulation system with a durable 23 mil floor liner, creating a sealed environment to prevent further moisture intrusion. To maintain proper humidity levels, we installed a Sierra Watchdog NXT 85-pint dehumidifier, ensuring the space stays dry year-round. Finally, we custom-built and installed a PVC crawlspace door to provide a tight, long-lasting seal. Together, these upgrades effectively addressed the mildew issue and restored a cleaner, healthier environment throughout the home.
